As long as your two MikroTik routers can communicate over an IP level they will be able to create an EOIP tunnel in order to effectively bridge the equipment.
Even though EOIP can be very useful and allows us to form these bridges over Layer 3 it has some drawbacks as well. Whenever we use GRE we need to account for the extra 24 byte overhead to our packet payloads. If anywhere between the routers there is an MTU issue or bigger MTU sizes are not supported you may face issues with the EOIP tunnel where it might not come up at all or it will not be very stable at all.
I personally only use these types of tunnels within my own network where I can be certain that there will not be any MTU issues.
The configuration process is quite straight forward, I will be configuring EOIP between two routers inside of GNS with an third router between the devices acting as the "internet". We start off by navigating to the Interfaces and selecting the EOIP tab, we will then click on the add button where we will get a popup to create a new interface.

The routing information includes the actual route prefix for a destination, the path of autonomous systems to the destination, and additional path attributes.
BGP selects a single path, by default, as the best path to a destination host or network. Each path carries well-known mandatory, well-known discretionary, and optional transitive attributes that are used in BGP best-path analysis.
An autonomous system AS is a network controlled by a single administration entity. An autonomous system forms a routing domain with one or more interior gateway protocols IGPs and a consistent set of routing policies. BGP supports bit and bit autonomous system numbers. BGP supports 2-byte or 4-byte AS numbers. You can configure 4-byte AS numbers as either plain-text notation for example, 1 toor AS.
An administrative distance is a rating of the trustworthiness of a routing information source. By default, BGP uses the administrative distances shown in Table Note The administrative distance does not influence the BGP path selection algorithm, but it does influence whether BGP-learned routes are installed in the IP routing table.

It allows organizations with blocks of public IPs, known as prefixes, to advertise these addresses to other bgp-speaking routers on the internet.
BGP makes use of autonomous systems to advertise public prefixes so that other routers are informed on how to get to your autonomous system AS. One of the most common implementation of bgp is on a dual-ISP setup. So, in this demonstration, I will be showing us how to implement ebgp to load-balancing across two ISP links while making sure that all in-coming traffics fail over to the active ISP when the gateway of the other goes down.

Frist of all, we need to create a filter rule that will be used to prepend the AS-Path of the prefix advertised to ISP2. This will ensure that ISP1 becomes the most preferred link to get to our network.
The shorter the AS-Path, the more preferred the link is. Note that the ebgp multip-hop feature was not used because the peering was done on a physical interface on all the peering ISP routers. I would highly suggest watching the video in conjunction with the post in order to maximise your understanding of what BGP is and how to configure it on a MikroTik router. Before we try to configure BGP let's first give some insight into what it is and why do we use it?

What makes BGP a great routing protocol is all the attributes that you can also specify between the peers. Now that we have briefly discussed what BGP is we will look at how to configure this between two routers. We will be jumping into the configuration shortly, I first want you to look at the below topology to understand what our goals are. Even though we are using private IP ranges these could to public IP ranges which you are advertising to the rest of the world at an INX Internet Exchange once we are done with the BGP cofniguration both routers will have an established BGP connections and they will learn each-other's routes.
This router also has the NB: Do not forget to specify the correct instance in the peer! Now that we have configured MikroTik1's configuration we are able to start working on MikroTik2. The configuration will be very similar, although very much in reverse and we will be changing the networks we will be advertising. The key to remember is the 3 steps mentioned earlier.
We've successfully completed the configuration, however you should always verify that everything is connecting and that you are learning the routes, below are some commands you can use to verify that the peer is up as well as checking to confirm if you are receiving routes.
Note when you print the peer if you see an E next to the sequence that means the peer is Established which is good! This next command is only to be used within your OWN network if you are creating a BGP connection to one of your own routers. You can inject a default route to a remote router by adding the following command to the BGP peer, in this example I will be setting the default-originate to always in order to send a default route from MikroTik1 to MikroTik2.
Note that the 0 is the sequence number for this specific peer, you can always check the sequence numbers by typing routing bgp peer print. Everything is working as intended and I will thus be ending the blog post here. With help of Traffic-Flow, it is possible to analyze and optimize the overall network performance. With Traffic-Flow targets we specify those hosts which will gather the Traffic-Flow information from router. By looking at packet flow diagram you can see that traffic flow is at the end of input, forward and output chain stack.
It means that traffic flow will count only traffic that reaches one of those chains. For example, you set up mirror port on switch, connect mirror port to router and set traffic flow to count mirrored packets.
